About Me
Inspired by a childhood encounter with a magazine article on displaced women and children, I was driven to pursue a career in medicine with a strong focus on service to the most vulnerable. As a specialist in child abuse pediatrics at NYU Langone, I am dedicated to providing compassionate care to children facing concerns of abuse or neglect. My approach emphasizes trust and safety, involving patients and their families in decision-making processes to ensure they feel heard and supported during challenging times.
In addition to my clinical work, I am passionate about advancing the field of child abuse pediatrics through leadership, research, and education. I have held volunteer leadership positions with the American Academy of Pediatrics Council on Child Abuse and Neglect and the Ray E. Helfer Society. My research efforts are directed at enhancing medical evaluations for child maltreatment, improving mandated reporting, and developing prevention strategies. Teaching and mentorship are integral to my practice, as I believe in empowering the next generation of medical professionals.
Beyond the hospital walls, I lead medical missions with my church, providing care to underserved communities in countries such as Mexico, Haiti, Ethiopia, and India. This spirit of compassion and advocacy is a cornerstone of my work at NYU Langone, where my ultimate goal is to ensure every child and family feels safe, valued, and supported.
