As a psychiatrist at NYU Langone Hospital–Brooklyn, I am dedicated to understanding the intricate relationship between physical and mental health. I specialize in consultation-liaison psychiatry, which allows me to diagnose and treat patients with complex mental health disorders that may arise from or be influenced by medical conditions. As a psychiatry consultant for NYU Langone Hospital–Brooklyn, I assist medical and surgical providers in managing their patients who are acutely ill with comorbid psychiatric symptoms or behavioral dysregulation.

My expertise spans a range of complex conditions, including delirium, medication-induced mood disturbances, depression due to medical illnesses, and catatonia, among other cognitive and behavioral symptoms linked to medical conditions. This specialized training enables me to recommend precise and effective treatment plans for each patient.

Drawing from a foundation of knowledge and a diverse skill set, I approach my practice with a deep commitment to providing effective, compassionate care. My fluency in Spanish and unique cultural background allows me to connect with a wide range of patients, especially within Latino communities. This cultural sensitivity supports my ability to address mental health concerns in a way that aligns with patients' values and beliefs, enhancing the therapeutic relationship.

My journey into psychiatry was driven by a curiosity about the mind–body connection and I remain steadfast in my dedication to lifelong learning by engaging in academic activities and staying abreast of the latest research. I also take pride in mentoring the next generation of psychiatrists, sharing my knowledge and experience. My ultimate goal is to promote a holistic approach to healthcare, in which mental and emotional wellbeing are integral components of the healing process.
