Christie Chen, MD

As a pediatric emergency medicine physician at NYU Langone, I am dedicated to providing immediate, compassionate care to children, adolescents, and their families during some of life’s most challenging moments. My philosophy centers on creating a safe and supportive atmosphere for every patient, ensuring that each encounter is as positive as possible.

My training as an emergency medical technician during medical school and witnessing the critical importance of immediate, compassionate care profoundly influenced my decision to pursue this specialty. With years of experience in the field, I am committed to leveraging my expertise to provide the highest quality care. Additionally, I have a strong focus on clinical informatics, using data-driven solutions to enhance emergency care processes and improve communication within healthcare teams.

Throughout my career, I have also been dedicated to improving patient outcomes through innovative research and the application of digital health tools. My work includes studying the use of patient health portals to enhance patient–provider communication and engagement in care. I have had the honor of presenting my research at meetings for the Pediatric Academic Societies and the American College of Emergency Physicians, where I have exchanged ideas with fellow medical innovators.

At NYU Langone, I am passionate about providing hands-on care and problem-solving, especially in acute situations, and proud to be part of a team that ensures comprehensive and coordinated care for our patients.
