Research Summary

As an Assistant Professor in the Department of Population Health, my work focuses on leveraging digital health, remote patient monitoring, artificial intelligence (AI), and advanced clinical decision support to enhance healthcare delivery and foster a dynamic learning health system. As a member of the HiBRID (Healthcare Innovations Bridging Research Informatics and Design) Lab, I collaborate with a talented team of researchers to design, implement, and evaluate innovative digital tools that improve the quality and experience of care for patients and clinicians. Our projects, supported by federal grants, aim to enhance communication between patients and providers, utilize AI to support clinical decision-making, and streamline electronic health records to reduce clinician workload and promote evidence-based practices. Core methodologies in our research include human- and equity-centered design, implementation science, applied informatics, and iterative software development processes.

In my role as Clinical Innovations Lead for MCIT FuturePractice, I bridge research and operational implementation, ensuring that emerging digital tools are effectively integrated into clinical workflows and adopted by healthcare teams. FuturePractice is a dynamic internal team composed of innovation experts, UX designers, and technologists dedicated to advancing digital health solutions. Our mission is to accelerate the exploration, development, and deployment of new technologies across the health system to support efficient, high-quality care delivery.
