Desiree Ratner, MD

I am a private practice specialist and board-certified in micrographic surgery, cutaneous oncology, and dermatology. I also serve as a clinical professor of dermatology at the NYU Grossman School of Medicine.

I specialize in Mohs micrographic surgery and management of patients with high-risk skin cancers. I am the go-to expert for patients requiring specialized management of complex skin cancers. My unwavering commitment to achieving the best possible oncologic and aesthetic surgical outcomes for my patients is well known.

I graduated from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, completed a dermatology residency at the University of Michigan and a specialized two-year fellowship in Mohs micrographic surgery at New England Medical Center and the Lahey Clinic.

I was the director of dermatologic surgery at Columbia University Medical Center of the NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital for over 15 years, and director of the Comprehensive Skin Cancer Center at Mount Sinai Beth Israel for over five years. I founded my solo private practice in 2018.

I am nationally and internationally recognized as a leader in the field of Mohs surgery. I am co-editor of the Dermatologic Surgery Journal and associate editor of the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology. I have over 130 publications and have given numerous national and international presentations. I have been consistently listed in New York Magazine’s “Best Doctors,” Castle Connolly’s “Top Doctors,” and the New York Times Magazine’s “Super Doctors”.
