About Me
As a pulmonary specialist at NYU Langone, I am dedicated to providing comprehensive and compassionate care to my patients. My approach to medicine is deeply personal, shaped by my early experiences with my mother’s progressive illness. This inspired me to pursue a career in which I could make a meaningful difference in the lives of others through both clinical practice and research.
I specialize in treating a wide range of pulmonary conditions, which affect the lungs and other parts of the respiratory system, drawing on many years of experience in the field. My extensive training in internal and pulmonary medicine, both in London and Liverpool, has equipped me with the skills necessary to manage complex respiratory diseases.
Throughout my career, medical research has been a cornerstone of my professional life. My move to the United States and the National Institutes of Health (NIH) allowed me to delve deeper into basic science and contribute to groundbreaking research. At NYU Langone, I established a laboratory focused on developing and testing adenoviral gene therapy, which uses a modified version of common viruses to deliver a therapeutic gene into cells. My research reflects my commitment to developing innovative and effective treatments for conditions such as cystic fibrosis and cancer.
Being part of NYU Langone allows me to collaborate with a team, ensuring that my patients receive coordinated care. I am grateful for the opportunity to contribute to advancing pulmonary medicine.
