Frances Rusnack, D.O.

At NYU Langone, I am dedicated to delivering exceptional emergency care, driven by a commitment to be there for patients during their most critical times. My approach to medicine is rooted in compassion and teamwork, ensuring that every patient receives the highest standard of care. Witnessing the collective effort of our medical team to stabilize and comfort patients and their families is incredibly rewarding.

My expertise lies in emergency medicine, where I address a broad spectrum of acute conditions and injuries. Our emergency department stands out as an American College of Surgeons–verified Level 1 Trauma Center, Comprehensive Stroke Center, and STEMI Receiving Center. With a team of board-certified emergency physicians, we are equipped to provide prompt and effective treatment, ensuring optimal outcomes for our patients.

In addition to patient care, I am passionate about medical education. Inspired by the outstanding mentors I encountered during my training, I now serve as the assistant program director for the NYU Langone Hospital—Long Island Emergency Medicine Residency. This role allows me to contribute to the education and development of future emergency physicians, fostering their growth and ensuring they are well-prepared to deliver top-notch care.

My journey into medicine was fueled by a deep interest in the human body and a strong desire to help others. During medical school, I found each rotation enriching, but it was the dynamic and impactful nature of acute care that truly captivated me. The collaborative environment and the ability to make a difference in emergency situations led me to specialize in this field. I am proud to be part of the NYU Langone team, where we provide coordinated and comprehensive care to our community.
