About Me
As a clinical associate professor of psychiatry at NYU Grossman School of Medicine, I am deeply committed to providing compassionate care for patients facing complex psychiatric and medical challenges. My approach centers on building trust through open communication and understanding each patient’s unique story. I find immense fulfillment in helping individuals navigate their mental health journeys, particularly those struggling with substance use disorders.
I specialize in addiction psychiatry and consultation-liaison psychiatry, with extensive experience in integrating addiction treatment into hospital settings. As director of Addiction Consultation-Liaison Service at NYU Langone, I have pioneered programs that offer innovative approaches to addiction treatment, including buprenorphine micro induction for opioid use disorder. My dual fellowships in consultation-liaison psychiatry and addiction psychiatry, combined with years of practice, underscore my expertise in these areas.
Throughout my career, I have focused on improving care for patients with substance use disorders, particularly in acute hospital settings. My research has been recognized at national organization annual conferences, and I have received numerous awards, including fellowship teacher of the year at NYU Grossman School of Medicine.
My journey into medicine was driven by a fascination with the intersection of biology and mental health, which deepened during my medical education and residency. This passion led me to pursue dual fellowships in consultation-liaison psychiatry and addiction psychiatry. I believe in treating each patient holistically by addressing both their mental and physical health needs, working closely with patients and their families to develop comprehensive, long-term treatment plans. My goal is to empower patients on their journey to recovery and improved wellbeing.
