Anna Von Reinhart, MD

As an emergency medicine physician at NYU Langone, I am inspired by the “anyone, anywhere, anytime” ethos that defines my specialty. This spirit of being capable of and invested in caring for any patient, regardless of their demographics or the nature of their medical problems, no matter the circumstances or time of day, embodies why I wanted to become a doctor. During every shift in the Emergency Department, I strive to make my patients feel heard, understood, and cared for. I am curious to learn about them, their lives, and how the concerns that brought them to the hospital affect their wellbeing. I am passionate about translating medical jargon into plain language that my patients and their loved ones can understand, empowering them to better understand their health and how to navigate the healthcare system.

In addition to caring for patients directly, I serve as a medical educator and one of the leaders of our residency training program for emergency physicians. Growing up as the child of two teachers, I admired the incredible positive impact great teachers can make. I have pursued advanced training, including a fellowship in medical education, to guide trainee physicians in their personal and professional growth. By doing so, I aim to raise the standard of care for the thousands of patients each of those doctors will go on to treat. It is my educational mission to support our trainees and ensure they learn not only how to practice medicine with the utmost clinical skill but also to advocate effectively for the wellbeing of individual patients and our larger community. Our residency team strives every day for excellence and innovation in education.
