Research Summary

My research interests mainly focus on emergency psychiatry and managing dual diagnosis in the emergency setting. Additionally, a large part of my work in fellowship was developing an Elective in Integrated Psychiatry for Primary Care Residents which has been presented at the American Psychiatric Association's Annual Meeting in 2023.

Additionally, I am developing a project to evaluate the impact of important social determinants of health such as housing on dual diagnosis disorders. The treatment of dual diagnosis is limited at this time to medications, individual and group therapy with subsequent community treatment but this often leaves a gap in care which leads to relapse and decompensation. I would like to understand the factors involved in making this gap and discover ways to bridge them, especially with the help of therapeutic living environments.

As a new faculty member out of training I am looking to expand my research skills and publications so as to have a meaningful impact on community based care and training of psychiatrists.
