About Me
As a clinical assistant professor within the Department of Psychiatry at NYU Grossman School of Medicine, I am dedicated to fostering a holistic approach to mental healthcare. My philosophy centers on both patient engagement and proactive mental health management, ensuring that each individual receives personalized and compassionate care. Born in Manhattan and raised in the Bronx, I am deeply committed to serving my community and enhancing the overall wellbeing of my patients.
With a specialization in clinical psychology and a forensic concentration, I have extensive expertise in performing psychological evaluations, psychological testing, as well as, providing individual, group, family and couplesβ therapy. My credentials include a bachelor of science from Howard University, where I completed a fellowship at the National Institute of Mental Health and a doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Widener University. Additionally, I hold two masters of arts degrees in Clinical Psychology and Criminal Justice.
Throughout my career, I have worked in various inpatient and outpatient settings, including medical practices, community mental health facilities, state psychiatric facilities, federal and state prisons, rehabilitation, skilled nursing facilities and residential treatment centers. My diverse experience spans across all age groups, from infants to adolescents to young and geriatric adults. I have also provided clinical supervision to interns and externs and contributed to the training of medical students.
My educational journey began at Howard University, where my passion for mental health was ignited. The fellowship at the National Institute of Mental Health solidified my commitment to this field. My subsequent academic pursuits at Widener University further deepened my expertise, particularly in clinical psychology with a forensic specialization. As a native New Yorker, I am honored to contribute to the mental health landscape of my community through my role at NYU Langone.
