About Me
As a psychiatrist here at NYU Langone, I am deeply committed to supporting emotional wellbeing and personal growth. My journey into psychiatry began with a career as a high school science teacher, where my fascination with the brain, learning, and development was ignited. This interest, combined with my desire to make a significant difference in the lives of others, guided me towards psychiatry. I strive to create an open, warm, and nonjudgmental environment where patients can freely explore their emotions and experiences.
My expertise lies in treating a variety of conditions such as anxiety, depression, mania, addiction, and ADHD. I also have experience in addressing relationship and identity challenges. My approach is holistic and personalized, often integrating careful medication management with insight-oriented psychotherapy. I am also trained in treating patients with concurrent medical illnesses and work part-time at NYU Langone’s Perlmutter Cancer Center.
In addition to this, I have extensive experience working with diverse groups including students, young adults, perinatal patients, and healthcare professionals. My focus is on emphasizing the complexities of the human mind and its impact on overall health. My role at the Perlmutter Cancer Center allows me to combine my expertise in psychiatry with the management of medical illnesses, thus enhancing patient care and outcomes.
My medical journey began with my undergraduate studies, medical school, and general psychiatry residency. I was honored to be inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society and received the Myron B. Liptzin Award for clinical excellence. I then moved to New York City to complete a fellowship in Consult–Liaison Psychiatry at NYU Langone, focusing on the intersection of medical illness and mental health. This diverse background and my unwavering dedication to patient care have shaped my approach to psychiatry, enabling me to help my patients lead healthier, more fulfilling lives.
