Peter Luckow, MD, MPH

As an emergency medicine physician at NYU Langone, I am deeply committed to providing compassionate and dignified care to all my patients. Each shift, whether at Bellevue or NYU Langone, brings me purpose as I support individuals during their most vulnerable moments. I also take great pride in mentoring and advising residents and medical students, helping to shape the next generation of healthcare professionals.

I specialize in emergency medicine, with a particular focus on social medicine and global public health. My extensive training includes a residency in emergency medicine at the NYU Grossman School of Medicine. With years of experience in the field, I have developed a keen understanding of the complexities involved in emergency care and am dedicated to improving health outcomes for my patients.

Before my medical training, I co-founded Last Mile Health, a global health nonprofit that delivers healthcare to some of the world’s most remote villages. My research has been published on topics such as community health worker implementation and HIV treatment outcomes, reflecting my dedication to advancing public health.

My journey into medicine was inspired by a longstanding interest in social medicine and global public health. The accolades our work at Last Mile Health has received from the Clinton Global Initiative, the Skoll Foundation, and the TED Foundation further fuel my passion for making a meaningful difference in the lives of my patients and the broader community.
