About Me
As an emergency medicine physician at NYU Langone, I thrive in the fast-paced, high-pressure environment of the emergency department. The intense interactions and the need for steady, skilled hands in critical situations are what drew me to this field. Seventeen years into my career, I still find immense satisfaction in managing a bustling emergency department, filled with dedicated nurses, techs, and doctors, all working together to provide the best care possible. I also cherish the quieter moments when I can listen to patients’ stories and mentor NYU Langone’s exceptional residents and students.
As the co-director of the Undergraduate Medical Education team in the emergency department, I lead monthly didactic and simulation sessions, develop curricula, and offer one-on-one guidance to students pursuing careers in emergency medicine. My commitment to education extends to my active involvement with the Council of Residency Directors and the Clerkship Directors in Emergency Medicine, where I work to advance medical education on a broader scale. Over the years, I have been honored with several awards, including recognition at the Council of Residency Directors in Emergency Medicine Clinical Pathologic Conference, which underscores my dedication to mentoring the next generation of emergency physicians.
Throughout my career, I have focused on fostering a supportive and empowering learning environment for medical students. Working alongside my academic colleagues at NYU Langone, an institution at the pinnacle of medical education, is incredibly rewarding. However, nothing compares to the thrill of seeing students’ faces light up as they connect classroom learning with hands-on experience, transforming knowledge into practical understanding.
My journey into medicine and education has been driven by a deep commitment to preparing future physicians for the demanding and dynamic field of emergency care. I am dedicated to ensuring that students feel supported and empowered to develop the skills they need to succeed, and I look forward to continuing to inspire and mentor the next generation of emergency medicine professionals.
