Elias Kampton, D.O.

As an anesthesiologist at NYU Langone Hospital–Long Island, my primary focus is on the safety and comfort of my patients during surgical procedures. The opportunity to make a significant difference in someone’s life is both intellectually stimulating and emotionally rewarding for me.

My expertise lies in several medical specialties, including orthopedics, neurosurgery, vascular surgery, ear, nose, and throat (ENT), obstetrics and gynecology (OBGYN), surgical oncology, and urology. I have also completed an additional year of fellowship training in thoracic anesthesiology, which focuses on surgeries involving the chest cavity, such as those for the lungs and esophagus. This extensive training and experience have equipped me with advanced skills in managing pain, including the use of various methods for pain relief, nerve blocks, and non-opioid alternatives for treating acute pain.

Throughout my career, I have been dedicated to proactive engagement in healthcare, ensuring that my patients understand their medical conditions and the treatment process. I believe in shared decision-making, actively listening to my patients, and respecting their autonomy. This approach has allowed me to quickly build trust and rapport, even in high-pressure situations such as emergencies during surgery and airway emergencies.

My journey into medicine was inspired by a desire to have a direct impact on the lives of my community members. I was drawn to anesthesiology due to its dynamic setting, heavy procedural aspect, and the opportunity to practice critical care medicine. As part of NYU Langone, I work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care for my patients.
