About Me
I first became interested in colorectal surgery during my training, when I saw the enormous impact that colorectal surgeons have on a person’s daily life. I find it incredibly rewarding to be able to offer surgical options that can immediately help my patients feel better.
The conditions I treat are those affecting the lower intestinal tract. In addition to providing care for people with colon or rectal cancer through Perlmutter Cancer Center, I also see those who have diverticulitis and anorectal problems, including hemorrhoids, fissures, and fistulas.
I am committed to educating patients and ensuring they understand their treatment options. I strive to tailor treatment to the symptoms of the people I care for and to work with them to find the best individual solution.
My team and I see patients at the Inflammatory Bowel Disease Center at NYU Langone Ambulatory Care Lake Success and NYU Langone Ambulatory Care Bethpage. I work as part of a fantastic multidisciplinary group of doctors, all of whom are committed to providing the very best care for patients. This team effort means that my patients get advice from experts in a variety of fields—gastrointestinal medicine, nutrition, medical oncology, and many others.
Whenever possible, I use minimally invasive procedures, which allow my patients to recover faster and feel better more quickly than after open surgery. I also strive to use the latest technology to make surgery as safe as possible. I offer laparoscopic or robotic surgery when those are the best options for an individual patient.
