About Me
As a radiologist at NYU Grossman School of Medicine, I am dedicated to providing exceptional care for people with cancer. My passion lies in advancing medicine through innovative research and training the next generation of cancer imaging experts. I find immense fulfillment in my role, where I combine body and molecular imaging to interpret computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and positron emission tomography (PET) scans of the chest, abdomen, and pelvis. Collaborating with esteemed colleagues at NYU Langone is a privilege that allows me to contribute to significant advancements in cancer care.
My specialties include imaging of prostate, bladder, kidney, and gynecologic cancers. With extensive training and experience in both Korea and the United States, I bring a global perspective to my practice. My research focuses on understanding how these cancers spread, evaluating treatment responses, and predicting patient prognoses. I am particularly interested in utilizing advanced imaging techniques, such as state-of-the-art MRI and novel PET methods, to develop biomarkers that enhance cancer diagnosis and treatment.
Throughout my career, I have prioritized proactive healthcare engagement and optimizing radiology reporting. My efforts in standardized or structured reporting aim to improve communication between patients, referring physicians, and other stakeholders. In recognition of my work, I was honored as one of 11 National Academy of Medicine (NAM) Scholars in Diagnostic Excellence in 2022. I have published over 140 peer-reviewed articles on cancer imaging and have been invited to speak at national and international conferences, sharing my expertise on various cancer imaging topics.
My journey into medicine was inspired by a desire to make a meaningful impact on patient care. I pursued my medical education and training with a focus on radiology, driven by the potential of imaging to transform cancer diagnosis and treatment. At NYU Langone, I am committed to fostering strong partnerships with my patients and colleagues, ensuring a seamless and coordinated approach to cancer care.
