As an emergency physician at NYU Langone, I am dedicated to delivering comprehensive and competent care during acute medical emergencies.

I thrive in the collaborative environment of the emergency department, where teamwork with clerks, technicians, nurses, and physicians from various specialties is essential to providing effective healthcare. Partnering with such a committed team allows us to offer the best possible support and reassurance to patients and their families during critical times.

My specialties include electrocardiography and emergency critical care, areas in which I have developed significant expertise over my years of practice. I am particularly passionate about educating resident emergency physicians, helping them to hone their skills and expand their knowledge, and advancing our understanding of population health and emergency care delivery through ongoing research initiatives, which aim to improve the quality of care we provide in emergency settings.

My work in emergency medicine continues to be driven by a desire to ensure that every patient receives the highest standard of care, especially during their most vulnerable moments.

Research Summary

My research areas of interest involve utilizing large data sets and electronic health records to answer questions of clinical significance in emergency medicine, as well as collaborating with other academic researchers to study pressing public health questions using large-scale emergency department data. My most recent work has been analyzing health survey and emergency claims data to help identify geospatial and demographic risk factors for undiagnosed chronic diseases in both urban and rural populations, with a goal of addressing the significant disparities that exist in diabetes and other chronic diseases, which has a significant impact on complications from these diseases and mortality rates.

My additional research interests have included optimizing emergency healthcare delivery using novel technological approaches (including telehealth and other advanced technology innovations), clinical studies of therapeutics and new long-acting antibiotics to decrease admissions for skin and soft tissue infections. To do so, we have leveraged clinical informatics approaches to demonstrate the utility and impact of new emergency department systems approaches and care delivery concepts, including virtual urgent care, wearable devices, and clinical dashboards for clinicians.
