About Me
As a double board-certified physician in emergency medicine and emergency medical services (EMS), I'm passionate about delivering high-quality care when it matters most—during some of the most critical and life-altering moments patients and their families will ever face. My fellowship training in EMS and disaster medicine has prepared me to effectively bridge the gap between prehospital and emergency department care ensuring that patients receive exceptional treatment from their first contact with medical providers through their emergency department experience.
I practice in the emergency department and serve as assistant EMS medical director at NYU Langone Health. In my role, I also serve as the medical director for quality performance within our EMS system. I use advanced performance platforms to analyze data, review patient care, and lead quality initiatives that directly impact patient outcomes. I work closely with emergency medical technicians (EMTs) and paramedics and coordinate care across specialties—including cardiology, neurology, and trauma surgery—to improve outcomes in time-sensitive emergencies such as strokes, heart attacks, and traumatic injuries. My focus is always on improving care in the most critical situations, when every second counts.
I’m deeply involved in regional EMS leadership, including serving on the NYC Regional Emergency Medical Advisory Committee (REMAC). I serve as chair of the REMAC's Quality Performance Committee, where I lead efforts to evaluate and enhance patient care across the city through data-driven performance initiatives. I also sit on the REMAC Training and Education Committee, supporting EMT and paramedic training and certification throughout the region.
Education and mentorship are also core to my mission. I helped create a mentorship program for emergency medicine residents interested in EMS careers and remain actively involved in integrating out-of-hospital medicine into our residency curriculum. I also work closely with medical students through our EMS elective, introducing them to the vital role of prehospital medicine and helping them understand the full continuum of patient care.
At the heart of everything I do is a drive to ensure that patients receive excellent care—every step of the way.
