I told my kindergarten teacher that I wanted to be a pediatrician when I grew up, a dream that carried through to adulthood. I chose to specialize in pediatric critical care because I find the most meaning in taking care of the sickest children and their families. I am always impressed with their resilience and with how quickly children can heal.

In the pediatric intensive care unit, I work with an excellent team of people who are all dedicated to helping children with severe illness get better. We take care of children with a variety of conditions affecting all organs of the body, and strive to provide outstanding care, support, and communication to parents and family members as well.

When I am not taking care of patients, I have spent time researching respiratory infections and respiratory failure. I also dedicate significant time and work into educating doctors in training, to try to mold the pediatricians and pediatric critical care doctors of the future.
