Cassidy Dahn, MD

As an emergency medicine and critical care medicine physician and associate chief for the emergency department at NYU Langone in Manhattan, I am driven by a deep-seated passion for serving others. I find fulfillment in being able to meet the needs of any individual, regardless of their circumstances, providing them with the best possible care. My role allows me to comfort patients and their families during some of their most challenging times, a privilege I hold in high regard.

My expertise lies in emergency medicine and critical care, with a focus on acute resuscitation for severely ill patients. Acute resuscitation is a medical procedure that involves reviving patients who are in severe condition. I also am skilled and honored to be able to provide palliative care, which is the practice of relieving pain and improving the quality of life for patients and their families near the end of their lives. My clinical and academic pursuits also focus on identifying patients at risk for decompensation early and preventing decline where possible.

My leadership role at NYU Langone focuses on quality and safety within the department, striving each day to provide personalized care while keeping our patients and providers healthy, safe, and fulfilled. My journey into medicine was inspired by a passion for serving others, teaching, and science. The question, “When you see a doctor, what do you see?” led me to choose emergency medicine as my primary specialty. I saw a professional who could provide the best possible care to anyone, anywhere, under any circumstance. This vision, coupled with my desire to provide comfort and relief to patients on their worst days, continues to fuel my dedication to my work at NYU Langone.
