About Me
My passion for understanding how our brains connect with our emotional and cognitive experiences led me to clinical neuropsychology. I work primarily with people affected by multiple sclerosis (MS) and other neurological conditions that affect cognitive functions.
Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of helping people from diverse age groups and stages of disease. I specialize in noninvasive brain stimulation techniques, particularly transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS). I pioneered the development of tDCS technologies that integrate with home-based telerehabilitation, enabling patients to receive advanced treatments from their homes. This initiative led me to launch and direct the first program in the United States to offer tDCS as a teletreatment. We are able to deliver this innovative care to patients who have a wide range of neurological and psychiatric conditions.
My team and I aim to provide innovative and effective solutions for cognitive dysfunction and other “silent” symptoms. We are committed to early detection and intervention, utilizing treatments like tDCS to enhance and preserve functioning. Our approach is grounded in extensive clinical experience and ongoing research, allowing us to offer the most-advanced care tailored to each patient’s needs.
My treatment philosophy is holistic and patient centered. I believe in understanding each person’s unique challenges and how various factors converge to affect their overall wellbeing. I work with my patients to develop effective, accessible, and convenient treatment options to enhance their cognitive health and quality of life.
In addition to my clinical work, I am a professor at the Department of Neurology at NYU Langone Grossman School of Medicine. I direct both the MS research program and the tDCS program.
