Xinyuan Wu, MD

My journey into medicine began at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, where I earned my medical degree. I completed my residency in internal medicine at the University of Rochester Medical Center. Growing up in an immigrant family, I learned the importance of diverse perspectives and culturally competent care. This background, combined with my passion for medicine, led me to choose hospital medicine, a field that allows me to deliver high-quality care while embracing my diverse interests.

As a hospitalist at NYU Langone, I am dedicated to providing comprehensive, patient-centered care. My diverse interests in medicine, combined with my commitment to culturally competent care, enable me to connect with patients during their most challenging and vulnerable moments. I find immense satisfaction in my role, knowing that I am making a positive impact on the lives of my patients.

My specialty lies in hospital medicine, a field that allows me to address a wide range of medical conditions. I am particularly experienced in treating acute medical conditions that require inpatient treatment. My approach is collaborative—I integrate insights from patients' outpatient providers and work closely with multidisciplinary specialist teams. This approach ensures seamless, coordinated care, a hallmark of NYU Langone.

Throughout my career, I have been actively engaged in clinical research and quality improvement. I have participated in research trials aimed at enhancing patient outcomes, including during the COVID-19 pandemic. As a unit medical director, I have led projects focused on reducing hospital-acquired infections and boosting patient satisfaction. My work, published in leading medical journals and presented at national conferences, reflects my commitment to proactive healthcare engagement and advancing healthcare systems.
