About Me
As an attending physician in the surgical intensive care unit at the VA New York Harbor Healthcare System and a physician in the pulmonary critical care service at NYU Langone Orthopedic Hospital, I provide compassionate and comprehensive care to my patients. My philosophy of care is deeply rooted in understanding and addressing the diverse needs of New York City's population, often in their native languages, and with a profound appreciation for their cultural backgrounds and expectations.
With more than 20 years of experience, I specialize in general critical care, surgical critical care, including neurosurgery, general and cardiothoracic surgery postoperative care, and general pulmonary disease. My training in Argentina and France has equipped me with a unique perspective on healthcare systems and practices. My credentials include a master’s degree in medical education, which underscores my commitment to the professional development of medical trainees.
Throughout my career, I have focused on fostering a proactive healthcare environment. I am passionate about medical education and conduct research on the professional development of medical trainees, including their responses to healthcare crises and physician motivation. My work aims to help medical students and trainees achieve their potential and contribute to developing a fair healthcare system that delivers outstanding care.
My journey into medicine began with a desire to make a meaningful impact on patients' lives. Training in different countries has enriched my understanding of various healthcare systems and cultures, which I bring to my practice at NYU Langone. I am inspired by the opportunity to work with a collaborative team; this approach is central to my practice, as I strive to provide the highest quality of coordinated care to those I serve.
