My journey into child psychology started with a passion for understanding the profound impact of early experiences on child development. In my role as a clinical child psychologist at the Child Study Center, part of Hassenfeld Childrenâs Hospital at NYU Langone, my mission is to help children and adolescents overcome challenges and flourish, with the support of their families and educational environments.
I specialize in providing comprehensive evaluations and treatments for issues related to attention, disruptive behavior, anxiety, and early childhood development. By conducting developmentally-tailored diagnostic evaluations, I strive to gain insights into behavioral, emotional, and social concerns, considering each childâs distinct experiences, vulnerabilities, and relationships. My repertoire of evidence-based treatments includes parent-child interaction therapy (PCIT), parent management training (PMT), and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). I am particularly dedicated to working collaboratively with school teams to help children thrive in all aspects of their lives.
I am guided by the belief that children, adolescents, and families are doing the best they can with the resources and knowledge available to them. My approach is deeply informed by my experiences conducting academic research into the biological and psychological foundations of parenting. From my research and clinical practice, Iâve witnessed how even small shifts in behavior can lead to significant reductions in distress. In my interactions with children and their families, I endeavor to instill curiosity about the thought and behavior patterns that hinder change, and to empower families with the skills and confidence needed for growth.
