Angela Tong, MD

As a radiologist at NYU Langone, I am dedicated to integrating advanced technology with compassionate patient care. Radiology offers a unique intersection of technology, medical science, and patient care, which I find intellectually stimulating and professionally rewarding. My role allows me to use cutting-edge imaging techniques to visualize internal structures and assist in diagnosing a wide array of conditions, ensuring the best possible outcomes for my patients.

I specialize in prostate imaging and female pelvic imaging, with a particular focus on improving the accuracy and reducing the time to diagnosis for conditions such as endometriosis and ovarian and uterine cancers. With extensive training and years of experience, I am committed to providing high-quality imaging that informs effective treatment plans. As the director of prostate imaging, I collaborate closely with urologists, radiology oncologists, oncologists, and pathologists to discuss complex cases and ensure comprehensive care.

Throughout my career, I have been passionate about proactive healthcare engagement and research. I work with fellow researchers to develop novel imaging techniques and deep learning algorithms aimed at enhancing patient care. My participation in national and international meetings, such as the Radiological Society of North America and the American College of Radiology, allows me to contribute to establishing imaging standards and performing research in a collaborative, multi-institutional forum.

My journey into medicine began with a childhood dream of becoming a doctor, which evolved during college when I discovered my interest in engineering. Radiology became the perfect field for me, combining my love for technology and medical science. The ability to contribute to early diagnoses, inform treatment plans, and impact patient care in a meaningful way makes radiology an incredibly fulfilling and rewarding specialty.
