Audie R. Liametz, MD

As an emergency medicine physician at NYU Langone, I am deeply committed to enhancing the wellbeing of my patients. My passion lies in making a positive impact on their overall health, enabling them to lead more fulfilling and productive lives. The dynamic and energetic environment of the emergency department mirrors my drive for excellence, making every day a new and exciting challenge.

I am experienced in treating a variety of conditions, from minor ailments to serious medical emergencies. These include heart attack, respiratory failure, stroke, and traumatic injuries. As the chair of our campus's sepsis committee, I have gained extensive knowledge in recognizing and treating sepsis syndromes. My team and I consistently strive to meet and exceed the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) sepsis metric goals, ensuring optimal care for our patients.

In addition to my role in the emergency department, I serve as the vice chair and director of the Center for Quality & Patient Safety at NYU Langone Hospital—Long Island. Here, I oversee our quality metrics and performance, ensuring that the clinical care we provide is of the highest standard. We continually strive to improve and maintain our excellent quality of care.

My decision to pursue a career in medicine was inspired by the profound impact a physician can have on patients’ lives and their loved ones. The diversity of patients and conditions I encounter in emergency medicine, along with the dynamic environment, matches my energy level and personality. At NYU Langone, I work closely with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive and coordinated care for my patients. My focus is always on the person behind the condition and the care I provide.
