As a neurointensivist at NYU Langone, I am dedicated to providing comprehensive care to those experiencing critical neurological conditions. My approach emphasizes individualized treatment plans and fostering strong relationships with patients and their families. I believe that the intensive care unit (ICU) is often the first step in a long healthcare journey, and my goal is to ensure that each patient receives the highest quality of care during this crucial time.

I specialize in treating patients who are critically ill due to stroke, intracranial hemorrhage, traumatic brain injury, seizures, and neuromuscular diseases. My expertise in these areas allows me to manage complex cases and provide the best possible outcomes for my patients. I am particularly interested in the use of point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) to enhance diagnostic accuracy and treatment efficacy in the Neuro ICU.

Throughout my career, I have focused on interdisciplinary collaboration, working closely with advanced practice providers, residents, nurses, and pharmacists, as well as physical, occupational, and respiratory therapists. As the medical director of the Neuro ICU at Bellevue Hospital, I strive to continuously improve our high-quality care and ensure that our team is well-equipped to handle the most challenging cases. My commitment to education and training is reflected in my role as editor of the POCUS section of Currents and as an ad hoc reviewer for several peer-reviewed journals.

My journey into medicine began with a fascination for the brain and its complexities. As a neuroscience major in undergraduate school, I knew I wanted to pursue a career in neurology. During medical school and residency, I was captivated by the pathology in the neuro intensive care unit, which combined my interests in neurology with the acute care environment. This passion drives my dedication to supporting patients and their families through some of the most difficult times of their lives.
