About Me
As a pediatric neuropsychologist at the NYU Child Study Center at Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital at NYU Langone, I am dedicated to empowering families to create meaningful changes in their child’s life. My passion for understanding brain–behavior relationships began in childhood, inspired by my grandmother’s mental health journey and my early work with minimally verbal children with autism. These experiences deepened my appreciation for the brain’s complexities and the human experience, reinforcing the need for individualized assessment and tailored support—ultimately guiding me toward a career in neuropsychology.
With extensive training in understanding how medical, neurological, and genetic conditions impact neurocognition and development, I provide comprehensive evaluations that are medically informed and grounded in developmental and cultural neuropsychology. In this context, I specialize in assessing and diagnosing neurodevelopmental conditions—such as autism spectrum disorder, intellectual developmental disorder, language disorder, ADHD, and learning disorders—as well as associated social-emotional and behavioral symptoms. My expertise also includes early childhood developmental evaluations, clarifying complex diagnoses, and guiding families toward early intervention and treatment services.
Throughout my career, I have focused on bridging science and practice. My research explores the diverse presentations of autism, including how it manifests in medical conditions, in girls, and within family members as part of the broad autism phenotype. This work has deepened my understanding of autism’s varied expressions, allowing me to provide more personalized care. Additionally, my training in biostatistics enables me to analyze complex brain and behavior patterns and study how neurodevelopmental and neurocognitive conditions evolve over time.
My educational journey began with a doctoral degree in clinical psychology and a master’s degree in biostatistics from Northwestern University. I completed a predoctoral internship in clinical psychology/pediatric neuropsychology at Texas Children’s Hospital/Baylor College of Medicine and a clinical/research postdoctoral fellowship in pediatric neuropsychology and autism/neurodevelopmental disorders at Rush University Medical Center. I am also dedicated to advancing the field of neuropsychology, updating neuropsychology training guidelines, actively supporting international neuropsychology trainees, and working at the intersection of neuropsychology and autism/intellectual disabilities to promote more comprehensive care.
