Kevin J. Curley, MD

Growing up, I was adept at the sciences but also enjoyed working with people. Internal medicine allowed me to connect with and help a wide range of people. I specialized in sports medicine because of my interest in athletics. Athletes have a different mentality, which presents unique challenges to their care, but they also make it a very rewarding experience. I’ve learned that it’s sometimes harder to hold back an athlete than it is to encourage a sedentary patient to become more physically active.

I treat patients of all ages. I’m skilled at managing orthopedic issues and injuries, as well as concussions. I’ve also covered many live sporting events, including the U.S. Open Tennis Championships. I am a certified medical acupuncturist and treat a wide variety of medical conditions and orthopedic conditions with this modality.

I follow the American College of Sports Medicine motto of “exercise is medicine.” I emphasize lifestyle changes and personal risk reduction to promote healthy living. I consider myself as a guide on patients’ journeys to taking ownership of their own health. I prefer a prescription of physical activity over a pill whenever possible.
