About Me
As a psychiatrist at NYU Langone, I am deeply committed to understanding and addressing the emotional and psychological needs of my patients. My approach is holistic, inspired by my father, an acupuncturist, who taught me to view individuals as whole beings rather than just a collection of symptoms. This philosophy guides my practice today, allowing me to connect deeply with my patients and support their overall wellbeing.
I specialize in child and adolescent psychiatry, with a particular focus on ADHD, anxiety, and autism spectrum disorder. My expertise extends to treating substance use disorders in individuals with dual diagnoses, a field I have contributed to through my involvement with the American Psychiatric Association’s Council on Addiction Psychiatry. I have written publications on cannabidiol (CBD) and tobacco use disorder when I was a fellow. Additionally, I have extensive experience managing depression and bipolar-spectrum psychiatric conditions.
Throughout my career, I have ensured that my patients are well-informed and actively involved in their treatment plans. I employ a mix of psychodynamic psychotherapy and psychiatric medicine, tailored to each patient’s needs. My goal is to use medications judiciously and to create a comfortable, supportive environment where patients feel empowered to take charge of their recovery.
My journey into psychiatry began at the age of 9, sparked by a conversation with my father about the possibility of a career that combined medicine and emotional understanding. This early inspiration led me through a rigorous and rewarding path to becoming a psychiatrist. My training at NYU Langone have equipped me with the skills and knowledge to provide comprehensive and coordinated care, ensuring the best outcomes for my patients. I am passionate about helping my patients feel better and more empowered with each session we have together.
