Leeda Roshan, DO

As an emergency medicine physician at NYU Langone, I focus on providing high-quality, compassionate care in the fast-paced, dynamic environment of the emergency department. With a passion for teaching, I work closely with resident physicians, advanced practice providers and medical students, fostering their growth and development while providing mentorship to help them become the next generation of leaders in emergency medicine.

Born in the United States to parents who immigrated from Iran, I identify as a second-generation American and bring a personal understanding of the immigrant experience. This perspective informs my deep sensitivity to the cultural, social, and educational needs of diverse and historically underrepresented communities. My career in emergency medicine is rooted in a strong desire to care for patients during their most vulnerable moments. I strive to be a steady, positive presence for patients and their families, offering both clinical expertise and emotional support in times of uncertainty.

One of my primary clinical interests lies in managing patients with orthopedic injuries in the emergency department. With a background in kinesiology and a longstanding commitment to physical fitness, I bring a distinctive perspective to evaluating and treating extremity injuries. From serious conditions such as hip fractures to seemingly minor hand fractures that can nonetheless impair daily functioning, I view the emergency physician’s role as essential in shaping the early trajectory of care. Often encountering patients well before orthopedic specialists, we have a unique opportunity to initiate timely, impactful interventions that influence recovery and long-term outcomes.

As I continue to grow within academic emergency medicine, I aim to contribute meaningfully to the care of diverse populations and to the education of future physicians who will carry that same mission forward.
