Kathleen McMahon, DO

After several years working in emergency departments across the country, I am privileged to have joined the NYU Langone community. My passion for service has led me to work in both rural and inner-city hospitals throughout my early career. I bring a wealth of experience to an academic setting, where I am dedicated to teaching medical students and young physicians about emergency medicine, healthcare systems, and the diverse communities I have served. Originally from New England, I am excited to return closer to her roots after working in Los Angeles during the early stages of my career.

My interests in emergency medicine include clinical research, educational writing, and critical care. I am particularly passionate about advancing the care of individuals with lifelong disabilities and is honored to have received awards recognizing my achievements in these areas.

Working closely with skilled healthcare teams, I am committed to delivering effective, compassionate care to patients during their most challenging moments. I find immense purpose in using my skills to make a meaningful difference in their lives.
