Barie Miller, MD

As an internist at NYU Langone, my passion for medicine is deeply rooted in personal experiences. I am committed to diagnosing and treating a wide variety of conditions, with a focus on observation medicine. I take pride in ensuring my patients are well-informed and comfortable throughout their healthcare journey.

With years of experience in both internal and observation medicine, I have honed my skills in addressing acute medical needs and managing chronic conditions. My role in the Division of Observation Medicine in the Ronald O. Perelman Department of Emergency Medicine allows me to interact closely with patients, providing immediate and effective care. I am also actively involved in quality improvement projects and have contributed to the development of a curriculum for emergency medicine residents, which was published in the Journal of Education and Teaching in Emergency Medicine.

My journey into medicine was inspired by both the loss of my grandmother to breast cancer as well as witnessing a high school friend’s battle with testicular cancer. Alongside my twin sister, I chose to become an internist, driven by a desire to make a difference in the lives of my patients. I feel privileged to work at NYU Langone, where I can contribute to the wellbeing of the community and continue to grow as a physician.
