As a clinical psychologist at NYU Langone, I am dedicated to providing high-quality care to individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), insomnia, and attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). My passion for mental healthcare is deeply rooted in my belief that every patient is the expert in their own experiences. I see my role as a guide, collaborating with patients to help them achieve their goals and improve their overall wellness. By fostering a safe and supportive environment, I ensure that my patients feel valued and understood, empowering them to take an active role in their treatment.

My approach is centered on short-term, practical approaches, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and behavioral activation. I have particular expertise in CBT for insomnia and trauma-focused therapies such as cognitive processing therapy and prolonged exposure therapy, for which I am certified. Additionally, I am skilled in motivational strategies to help patients start and maintain exercise routines, and I serve as the liaison to NYU Langone Sports Health, supporting the mental health of athletes.

Throughout my career, I have focused on delivering personalized care that meets the unique needs of each patient. I build tailored treatment plans based on careful assessment and collaboration with my patients, ensuring that their needs are met, and they can reengage with life. My commitment to short-term treatments is designed to improve symptoms efficiently and enhance the quality of life for my patients.

I am currently the assistant director of the NYU Langone Anxiety, Stress, and Prolonged Grief Program, where I am involved in clinical trials research to optimize interventions for anxiety, stress, and grief-related conditions. Supported by a National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH)-funded career development award, my research focuses on leveraging exercise to improve mental health, including understanding the mechanisms by which exercise improves mental health and strategies to improve exercise engagement. My dedication to advancing knowledge in this field has been recognized by several prestigious awards, including the Anxiety and Depression Association of America Donald F. Klein Early Career Investigator Award and the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies President’s New Researcher Award.

Research Summary

My research, conducted within the Anxiety, Stress, and Prolonged Grief Program at NYU Langone's Department of Psychiatry, primarily focuses on exercise interventions for anxiety and mood disorders and factors that impact changes in mood and anxiety and exercise engagement. I am interested in the psychological and biological mechanisms of change involved in treatment response as well as factors that promote behavioral change, especially engagement in exercise to improve mood. If you are interested in participating in an exercise research study examining two types of exercise programs and their effects on anxiety and exercise, please visit the Anxiety, Stress, and Prolonged Grief Program webpage

I also contribute to research examining factors that impact change in cognitive behavioral therapy.  My research helps to inform my clinical work and keep me up-to-date on the most evidenced-based and effective clinical practices.
