As an emergency medicine physician at NYU Langone, I am dedicated to treating my patient community with the same care and respect I would offer my own family. Growing up in New York, I have a deep connection to the city and its residents, which fuels my passion for providing high-quality, compassionate care. My role allows me to address a wide range of medical emergencies, ensuring that each patient receives timely and effective treatment.

I specialize in emergency medicine with a particular focus on overcoming barriers to equitable healthcare. My training includes a dual degree MD/MBA from Tulane University, where I developed a keen interest in healthcare administration and operational efficiency. With over a decade of experience, my expertise extends to managing acute conditions and implementing innovative solutions to improve patient outcomes. My residency at NYU Langone and Bellevue was transformative, exposing me to the complexities of emergency care and the social inequities that impact patient health.

Throughout my career, I have been committed to proactive healthcare engagement and education. My research focuses on leveraging novel technologies to enhance communication and reduce barriers for non-English-speaking patients in the emergency department. Additionally, I have a strong dedication to resident education, having served as chief resident with a focus on mentoring and guiding resident projects from conception to execution. This commitment to education was recognized when I received the resident teaching award, a testament to my belief in the power of knowledge to improve patient care.

My journey into medicine began at Tulane University, where I was inspired by the intersection of communication and healthcare. Returning to New York for my residency allowed me to delve into the rich history of NYU Langone and Bellevue. My capstone grand rounds presentation explored the evolution of emergency care at these institutions, highlighting their longstanding commitment to serving the community. I am honored to be part of this legacy and excited to contribute to its future.

Research Summary

My current research attempts to study the effects of language concordance in Emergency Department encounters and their effects on patient outcomes. The outcomes are designed to look at operational metrics like length of stay and provider habits as well as clinical outcomes for patients like bounce back rates and integration into outpatient care systems. My educational work primarily focuses on the operationalization of GME ideas and the various roadblocks to materializing an idea from inception to publication. I am particularly interested in collaborating on efforts to improve on-shift teaching through the use of teaching scripts.
