Esra Demirel, MD

As a minimally invasive gynecologic surgeon at NYU Langone, I am dedicated to providing my patients with comprehensive, high-quality care using the latest technologies. My passion lies in addressing complex gynecologic conditions that impact various aspects of women's health, from fertility to overall quality of life.

I specialize in managing conditions such as fibroids, endometriosis, adenomyosis, endometrial polyps, and ovarian cysts, which can be associated with pelvic pain or infertility. With extensive training in robotic surgery, advanced laparoscopy, and hysteroscopy, I am equipped to offer minimally invasive solutions that promote faster recovery and better outcomes. My clinical and research interests are centered on pelvic pain, female infertility, and reproductive surgery, ensuring that I stay at the forefront of advances in these areas.

Throughout my career, I have been committed to proactive healthcare engagement, working closely with my patients to develop personalized treatment plans. At NYU Langone, I collaborate with specialists in reproductive endocrinology and infertility, radiology, physical therapy, and pain management to provide coordinated care. This multidisciplinary approach allows me to offer a broad range of treatment options tailored to the unique needs of each patient.

My journey into medicine was driven by a desire to make a meaningful impact on women's health. As an assistant professor of obstetrics and gynecology at NYU Grossman School of Medicine, I am also dedicated to educating the next generation of gynecologic surgeons. I am an active member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists, and the Society of Laparoscopic & Robotic Surgeons. Additionally, I engage with news media to advocate for women's health topics, including contraception, endometriosis, and fertility preservation.
