About Me
As a cardiac surgeon at NYU Langone Cardiothoracic Surgery Associates, I am dedicated to providing compassionate, patient–provider care. I specialize in cardiac transplantation and the use of mechanical devices to support patients who are critically ill with end-stage heart failure.
With specialized training from the Cleveland Clinic in heart and lung transplantation and mechanical circulatory assist device surgery, I bring extensive expertise to my role. My clinical focus includes using minimally invasive approaches to implant circulatory support devices, reflecting the advances in technology that allow us to support organ function with increasingly smaller devices.
My passion for medicine began in childhood, inspired by a Christmas gift of a toy doctor’s bag and further fueled by reading about pioneering cardiac surgeons like Christian Bernard, who performed the first human heart transplant. Fascinated with the heart's complex physiology and its central role in sustaining life, I pursued medical school with a clear goal of becoming a cardiac surgeon, driven by the desire to help those in critical need.
Throughout my career, I have practiced as an attending cardiac surgeon at several institutions, gaining valuable experience in managing complex cardiac cases. My research is centered on improving clinical outcomes through the collection and analysis of large patient data sets, aiming to enhance the quality of care for patients with severe heart conditions.
As a member of the NYU Langone Transplant Institute, I collaborate with a dedicated team to provide innovative, coordinated care for the most challenging cases. Treating my patients as if they were my own family members, I guide them through their treatment options with empathy and dedication, finding immense gratification in their improved health.
