Julian Mackay-Wiggan, MD

As a dermatologist at NYU Langone, I am dedicated to providing comprehensive and compassionate care to my patients. My philosophy is centered on proactive healthcare engagement, ensuring that each patient receives personalized treatment tailored to their unique needs. I find great fulfillment in helping individuals achieve healthier skin and hair, and I am committed to fostering strong partnerships with my patients to enhance their overall wellbeing.

I specialize in general dermatology with a particular focus on hair loss. With over two decades of experience in the field, I have developed extensive expertise in diagnosing and treating a wide range of skin conditions. My background includes a robust foundation in dermatology, beginning with receiving my medical degree from Columbia University, Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons. Following this, I completed a medicine internship and a dermatology residency at Columbia University/New York Presbyterian Hospital. I then served as a full-time faculty member in the Dermatology Department at Columbia University/New York Presbyterian Hospital for 15 years. As an assistant and then associate professor, I practiced medical dermatology and conducted multiple clinical trials as a principal investigator. I then spent 7 years in dermatology private practice here in Florida. My years of patient care and research have equipped me with the skills and knowledge necessary to effectively manage both common and complex dermatological issues.

Throughout my career, I have been dedicated to advancing the field of dermatology through both clinical practice and research. My work has always emphasized the importance of patient education and engagement, ensuring that my patients are well-informed and actively involved in their treatment plans. I believe that a collaborative approach leads to the best outcomes, and I strive to create a supportive and responsive environment for all my patients.
