I bring a wealth of expertise and dedication to my role as an attending psychiatrist at NYU Langone. After completing my residency in psychiatry at NYU Langone, Bellevue Hospital, and the Manhattan VA—where I served as chief resident—I am committed to providing compassionate, patient-centered care to individuals navigating life transitions in mental and physical health, relationships, and chronic or acute illnesses. I offer individual consultations and collaborative care that includes family members and other healthcare providers to develop comprehensive and tailored treatment plans.
I specialize in the treatment of mood and anxiety disorders, psychotic illnesses, and personality disorders. Through my consultation-liaison psychiatry fellowship at Columbia University, I gained additional expertise in addressing psychiatric symptoms connected to medical conditions such as pregnancy and postpartum mental health concerns, eating and substance use disorders, as well as diagnoses associated with chronic pain, autoimmune diseases, and cancer.
My approach to care is highly individualized and may incorporate medications, psychotherapy, and lifestyle modifications. As a certified yoga instructor with training in mindfulness-based stress reduction, I integrate mind-body techniques to enhance non-pharmacologic interventions that alleviate symptoms of anxiety, stress, and physical discomfort. I have led workshops and presentations both nationally and at esteemed organizations, including the annual meetings of the American Psychiatric Association and the Society for General Internal Medicine.
My commitment to compassionate medicine is evident in my induction into Columbia’s Gold Humanism Honor Society during medical school. I was also honored with The Edward T. Bello, MD, Listening Award, recognizing my dedication to the art of listening to patients, colleagues, and myself as integral to effective medical practice.
