I have been focused on gynecologic oncology my entire medical career. After observing a doctor calm a woman who had ovarian cancer simply by sitting at her bedside and holding her hand, I knew I wanted to be a part of the powerful doctor–patient relationship and compassionate care that characterize the field.

As a gynecologic oncologist, I perform advanced, minimally invasive surgery to treat ovarian, endometrial, cervical, vaginal, and vulvar cancers. I have expertise in performing radical cytoreductive surgery for advanced ovarian cancer. With this approach, we remove as much cancer as possible with the goal of improving the effectiveness of chemotherapy after surgery.

I specialize in fertility-sparing surgeries. These aim to help women with gynecologic cancers maintain their ability to start or grow their families. These procedures include radical trachelectomy, which preserves the uterus in women who have cervical cancer. I also perform fertility-sparing surgery for women who have endometrial or ovarian cancers. In addition, I have specialized experience in risk-reduction surgery for women who are at a high risk of developing gynecologic cancers.

Receiving a cancer diagnosis can cause tremendous anxiety for patients and their loved ones. In my practice, I believe that the best antidote for this is education, clear communication, and empathy. I take the time to explain a diagnosis and its treatment options in understandable terms and to answer any questions. Together with patients and their loved ones, we decide on a thorough and personalized care plan that helps each patient move forward. My goal is to strike a balance between achieving remission in the short term and maintaining quality of life in the long term. I am also committed to creating a safe and welcoming space for patients in the LGBTQ+ community and all patients, regardless of their backgrounds or identities.

Castle Connolly named me a Rising Star in 2022 and 2023 and in its “Top Doctors” series for the New York metro area in 2022. I was also named as one of the 40 under 40 in Cancer by the Association for Value-Based Cancer Care in 2022.

I have a passion for making cancer care more accessible, affordable, and of the highest possible quality for all patients. As medical director of network integration and strategy for Perlmutter Cancer Center locations in Long Island, I work with colleagues across NYU Langone to make accessing our world-class cancer care as convenient as possible.
