About Me
Driven by a passion for supporting children in their unique environments, my journey to a career in medicine began with my experiences as a sports coach for children. I witnessed firsthand how different environments can impact mental health and I developed a deep commitment to providing exceptional care to children and adolescents.
I specialize in addressing a spectrum of conditions including anxiety disorders, disruptive behavior disorders, tic disorders, executive functioning challenges, and emotional and behavioral dysregulation. In my practice, I have developed expertise in organizational skills training to support children and teens in the development of executive functioning skills, empowering them to better manage their daily tasks and responsibilities. With particular expertise in selective mutism, ADHD, and executive functioning challenges, I aim to empower children and their families to thrive.
Collaboration is at the heart of my practice. I build trust with patients by engaging parents as key partners, acknowledging their insights into their child’s unique needs. Together, we employ evidence-based strategies to foster environments where children can achieve their goals. My approach is grounded in cognitive behavioral therapy and enhanced by certifications in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy, including a specialization in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy for Selective Mutism.
Our team excels in the development and implementation of both group programs and individual treatments, ensuring tailored approaches that accommodate the specific contexts a child interacts with. My doctoral research further enriches our care strategies, focusing on the assessment and evaluation of children with selective mutism—contributing to innovative therapies that benefit our patients.
By maintaining a developmental and ecological framework, I strive to understand the myriad factors influencing a child's behavior and well-being. This holistic approach allows me to design effective treatment plans that meet the diverse needs of children and families, supporting them in achieving their aspirations and enhancing their overall quality of life.
