About Me
As a psychologist at NYU Langone, my commitment to compassionate, patient-focused care is unwavering. I am motivated by the potential to treat common disorders like anxiety, depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) guided by the latest research. This approach, often the first line of defense, has shown remarkable success. It’s exciting to see how advancements in psychotherapy have made conditions such as PTSD directly treatable.
My area of expertise lies in treating anxiety disorders, grief, depression, PTSD, and complex trauma. I have had extensive training and certification in prolonged exposure therapy for PTSD. This, along with my ability to utilize a variety of approaches, enables me to build a strong rapport with my patients, and balance immediate relief with long-term healing. I also apply cognitive-behavioral treatments for specific anxiety disorders, for which I often receive referrals from other clinicians at NYU Langone.
Throughout my career, I have been involved in numerous clinical trials to enhance treatments for anxiety disorders and PTSD. I have published and presented on topics such as anxiety disorders, acceptance and commitment therapy, the therapeutic relationship, and psychotherapy training. My research has been acknowledged by the Society for Qualitative Inquiry in Psychology and the Society for the Exploration of Psychotherapy Integration. This recognition reflects my dedication to proactive engagement in healthcare.
My journey into psychology was influenced by my early academic work and personal relationships. I completed my predoctoral clinical internship at Edith Nourse Rogers Memorial Veterans’ Hospital in Bedford, MA, and my postdoctoral fellowship at NYU Grossman School of Medicine’s Anxiety, Stress and Prolonged Grief Program. After my postdoctoral training, I joined NYU Langone Faculty Group Practice. Here, I collaborate with a diverse group of talented colleagues, ensuring comprehensive and coordinated care for my patients.
