I am a neurosurgical spine specialist with expertise in spine oncology and complex spinal disorders. As director of the spine oncology program at NYU Langone, my clinical and academic focus is on treating primary and metastatic spinal tumors, including epidural spinal cord compression, primary bone tumors, and tumors involving the spinal cord and peripheral nerves.

These intricate conditions demand specialized, multidisciplinary care. I collaborate closely with specialists in medical oncology, radiation oncology, orthopedic spine surgery, interventional radiology, and rehabilitation medicine to create coordinated, evidence-based treatment plans. The spine oncology program emphasizes timely evaluations, structured decision-making, and the integration of surgery, stereotactic radiation, and systemic therapies to optimize both oncologic outcomes and quality of life.

My approach to spine oncology incorporates a precision-based framework, accounting for tumor biology, neurological status, spinal stability, and the patient’s overall condition. This method enables individualized treatment strategies and systematic management of even the most complex cases.

In addition to treating spine tumors, I manage degenerative spine conditions such as disc herniations, spinal stenosis, and spinal instability. Whenever appropriate, I employ minimally invasive surgical techniques and motion-preserving approaches to reduce recovery times and improve functional outcomes. Surgery is only recommended when it offers a clear benefit; many patients can be effectively treated through a combination of nonoperative and targeted interventions.

My research is dedicated to improving outcomes in spine oncology and integrating advanced technologies into surgical care. I have participated in multicenter prospective studies and international collaborations to enhance the understanding and treatment of spinal tumors. My investigative work includes exploring genomic data, developing clinical decision frameworks, and assessing minimally invasive and robotic surgical techniques.

Active in global spine oncology initiatives, I hold leadership roles in international research consortia and contributes to tumor registries that aim to enhance evidence-based care worldwide.
