Michael C. Wajda, MD

As the program director of the Anesthesiology Residency Program at NYU Langone since July 2006, I am deeply committed to fostering an academic environment that nurtures both clinical competence and independent thought. I specialize in anesthesiology with a focus on education and training.

My role allows me to shape the future of anesthesiology by guiding medical residents through a diverse range of patient populations across multiple hospital settings. I prioritize resident autonomy and personal wellbeing, ensuring that our trainees are well-prepared to provide exceptional care.

Over my years of practice, I have expanded our residency program to include academic tracks in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Long Island, accommodating 108 residents annually. My dedication to academic excellence and resident development was recognized in 2020 when I received the NYU Grossman School of Medicine Graduate Medical Education’s Educator of the Year Award.
