Arjun Iyengar, MD

As an oncologist at NYU Langone, I am committed to delivering compassionate, empathic care to my patients. Growing up in a family of physicians, I witnessed firsthand the profound impact that quality clinical care can have on patients’ lives. This early exposure instilled in me a deep commitment to patient–provider relationships, where shared decision-making and providing thorough information can empower patients and their families to make the best choices for their health.

I treat a wide range of hematology and oncology conditions, from benign blood disorders such as anemia, sickle cell disease, coagulopathies, and thalassemia, to malignant conditions including lung cancer, gastrointestinal cancer, myeloproliferative neoplasms, lymphomas, leukemias, and gynecologic malignancies. With many years of experience, I am proficient in performing bone marrow biopsies, lumbar punctures, and administering intrathecal chemotherapy. Additionally, I supervise fellows in training, ensuring they achieve procedural competency.

I am fluent in English, Spanish, and Tamil, and conversant in Hindi and Urdu, and strive to connect with my patients personally, fostering strong partnerships and ensuring a positive patient experience.
