As a board-certified psychiatrist at NYU Langone Hospital—Brooklyn, I am dedicated to providing compassionate and timely care to patients in the psychiatric emergency department. My role as a clinical instructor in psychiatry allows me to stay at the forefront of psychiatric education and practice, ensuring that I deliver the highest standard of care in high-pressure environments.

I specialize in addressing the urgent psychiatric needs of both adult and adolescent patients. My expertise extends to managing complex cases in forensic psychiatry, where I apply my knowledge to the intersection of mental health and the legal system. This unique focus allows me to provide comprehensive care that considers both the psychological and social dimensions of my patients' lives.

With years of experience in the field, I have honed my skills in crisis intervention and emergency psychiatric care. My background includes extensive public service, such as promoting chronic disease management and health education among migrant communities as an AmeriCorps service member. Additionally, I have been involved in volunteer programs supporting refugees and underserved populations, emphasizing youth mentorship and mental health initiatives. These experiences have enriched my practice, enabling me to address patients with a wide range of psychiatric conditions with empathy and expertise.

My educational journey began at Emory University, where I earned a bachelor of arts degree in physics, graduating summa cum laude with a minor in anthropology. I then pursued a doctor of medicine/master of public health degree from SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University, graduating with distinction in epidemiology. My residency at Emory University and subsequent forensic psychiatry fellowship at Columbia/Cornell University provided me with rigorous training under leading experts in the field. These experiences, combined with my research on psychiatry and public safety, have shaped my holistic and humanistic approach to mental health care.

My commitment to forensic psychiatry, public health, and improving mental health care access for all drives my practice. I am passionate about making a meaningful impact on my patients' lives by addressing their immediate needs and supporting their long-term wellbeing.
