Recurrent Miscarriage

Recurrent miscarriage is the unintended end of two or more pregnancies in a row before the 20th week. At NYU Langone, a team of fertility specialists and embryologists, who perform procedures to create embryos, collaborate with nurses, psychologists, and wellness experts to treat women who experience recurrent miscarriage. 

At NYU Langone, our specialists are internationally renowned for their pioneering work in preimplantation genetic screening and diagnosis, known as PGS and PGD. These procedures test for genetic problems in embryos, such as chromosomal abnormalities that are a common cause of recurrent miscarriage. This allows for the transfer of only healthy embryos during in vitro fertilization, greatly reducing the risk of miscarriage.
