Flear Vaknin, MD

As an obstetrician and gynecologist at NYU Langone, I am devoted to offering comprehensive and compassionate care to women at all stages of life. I am driven by a passion for empowering women and enhancing their quality of life, and I find immense satisfaction in guiding them towards their desired health outcomes.

My specialty encompasses a range of women’s health conditions, including contraception counseling and menopausal care. I am particularly interested in managing all aspects of pregnancy—from prenatal care to delivery and postpartum. I also provide preconception counseling. In addition, I focus on the management of pelvic pain and menstrual disorders, as well as conditions such as fibroids and cysts. With years of experience and extensive training, I am skilled in performing minimally invasive gynecologic procedures, such as hysteroscopy, colposcopy, and laparoscopic surgery.

Throughout my career, my experiences in global health have significantly shaped my approach to patient care. I firmly believe that understanding the broader context of a patient’s life is essential to providing holistic care. This perspective has highlighted the importance of empathy and compassion in my practice. I am committed to patient education and engagement, viewing them as key to effective and compassionate care.

My journey into medicine was inspired by a deep appreciation for human experiences and a desire to connect with others. The women’s health field opens many opportunities to engage with and learn about my patients and their healthcare goals. As a part of the NYU Langone women’s health team, I collaborate with a group of experts to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our patients.
