About Me

When I was growing up, my family always talked about medicine at the dinner table. Several relatives were doctors, and they were revered by my family. As a result, I always aspired to be a doctor. I chose to specialize in ophthalmology because it allows doctors to treat patients medically and surgically. Also, after a patient has been treated, the improvement in vision is typically both rapid and amazing.

I perform comprehensive eye exams, which involve testing for refractive errors, such as farsightedness and nearsightedness. I diagnose and treat glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy, which affects people who have diabetes. I also care for patients who have muscle imbalances in the eye that lead to double vision.

I prescribe eye drops and perform laser surgery for glaucoma, a leading cause of blindness. I also counsel patients who have diabetes about the importance of controlling blood sugar. If necessary, I consult with doctors who specialize in glaucoma and retinal diseases.

It is possible to save a person’s sight by doing an eye exam, so I encourage my patients to have regular checkups. I take the time to explain a patient’s condition and collaborate with them on their treatment plan.

I have been included in Castle Connolly’s “Top Doctors” series for the New York metro area and in New York Magazine’s “Best Doctors in New York” issue. I have also been named in the Super Doctors list for the New York Metro area.
